A witty interview with Debesyla about his life

answers to questions
Interview

Who is your super hero?

Myself. I understand that no one will do my work for me - just as they will not fulfill my greatest goals. I am the locksmith-welder of my destiny.

What do you do when you don't know what to do?

I am lazy. When you do nothing, the best ideas are born.

Because the worst thing I can do to myself is to do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do.

Have you noticed that just listening to this repetition makes your head spin? Now imagine you're that workaholic -Developer.

What makes you dizzy?

Of course dopamine and other pleasant chemicals when I hear compliments to myself and similar flattery. Now I'm learning not to intoxicate myself with it - I almost gave up Facebook, shopping, other nonsense

...Yes, nature has given us that - the tools to tell us what is good and what is not so good. Just by listening to your feelings, you can find your calling in life... Well, it's true. There is a problem.

Dopamine, seratonin, endorphins and other hormones are transcribed. Their connections are reprogrammed and changed. (So if you liked cold cuts and communism as a child, it doesn't mean you'll be fighting for a bright cold-cut tomorrow as an adult.)

And these connections can be used to enslave other people.

For some who are resistant to these chemicals (i.e. narcissists, psychopaths and other asocials), these connections become a tool. They create engaging advertisements. They captivate with the "realness" they have played for the presidency or media attention. They exploit your love for them for their own gain.

...And you think that the Maxima discount card and Facebook were given to you out of goodwill?

Now I'm learning to intoxicate myself by being open with my readers (and talking about the not-so-good days), sitting under the sunny sky, challenging myself and finding eco-friendly solutions.

What do you do in secret?

I write love letters to the girls I fall in love with and imagine. I draw comics. I watch the view out the window. I drink litres of black tea.

Your top three qualities?

*long pause*

I don't think I can answer that. Only others can judge my best and worst qualities, because I just do what my environment has given me. I don't make the rules of the game, I just try to choose what fits my values.

What would you like to learn?

Helping people even more.

I'm thinking of switching to a coaching specialist Povilas Petrauskas (hey, Povila, public compliments!) coaching courses so that I can continue my mentoring even better KTU GUIDed in the programme and Idialogue.lt.

However, I am only as useful as I am to others.

How beautiful is Lithuania to you?

Flatness. That it is already like the Netherlands.

In its mediocrity - that it is not something special, but just another mid-eastern northern European country that could be a full Marvel Doctor Doom country Latveria.

In your constant dissatisfaction with yourself and your search for compliments - it's so human!

Our fear of standing out, our fear of being ourselves, our fear of admitting that we are worthy of this... Well, and, of course, the exaltation of certain qualities, because there is not a single country in the world where...

For me, Lithuania is just a girl. Just a person.

Have you ever picked up someone else's rubbish?

What!? No, never!!!

*looks you in the eye*

*smiles*

I collect them quite often, when I go to Kaunas. Well, I'm not someone who walks around with a bag all the time, but if I'm on my way, I pick it up and throw it away. Most of the time, this rubbish is blown around by the wind, blown out of garbage cans, and it's easy to pick it up.

And. Well, I call it a little exercise. We don't move much these days anyway. We don't do sports, but we do general bending, dancing, at least shaking our heads. So that's how I exercise here.

What should everyone do at some point in their lives?

Recognise that death is waiting. We are only what we do before it.

What does it mean to you to be yourself?

Be open.

What do you idealise most?

Veganism. I believe that vegan diet available at the best shit from The Green Revolution of the 1950s. And if you care about nature (not just animals, but also ecology) - giving up animal products is better than giving up your car. This isn't about meat or milk - these are good foods - it's just healthier (for everyone) to grow them in a lab.

But. Of course. I idealise.

Without what wouldn't everything be?

God.

Whatever the creature, whatever the physical phenomenon, mysticism was there, creating the universe before the present one. Because nothing comes from nothing, God must mathematically exist.

What is Man's greatest duty?

Deliberately lazy and enjoy being here.

...What else is there?

What is creativity to you?

Openness.

What do you most like to finish?

Vegan "Oh!" chocolate.
