When I started the daily writing challenge for the third time, I set myself a goal of increasing my word count only after completing seven days with a lower limit. Yesterday, I shared the first draft of the revised, rewritten and updated texts part of.
Jan 13, 2015. Excerpt from Daniel's Dictionary on Yes and No.
When they say "No" to me, I hear "No".
When they say "Yes" to me, I hear "Yes".
It's elementary.
But here's what else you should know if you want to understand how my brain works:
When they say "No" to me, I hear "No".
When I'm told "Perhaps", "I'll think about it", "Gal", "Maybe" or something like that - I hear "No".
When they say "Maybe" or "I'll answer later" or something like that, I hear "Maybe. But don't get your hopes up and don't plan anything."
When they say "I don't know" to me, I hear "I don't know".
And when they don't tell me anything, I hear "No" again.
So remember - I don't know how your brain works, I don't know how you think and how you perceive these words and actions...
…But me, personally, if I don't hear Yes in myself, in another person, in my heart, in my mind, or anywhere else, I hear No.
Yes, I make mistakes sometimes. Sometimes I ask. Sometimes it seems to me that I hear that salutary and desired "Yes"... But if it is not "Yes", then it is only "No".
And you can't hide it.

January 14, 2015. Excerpt from the fairy tale about the Boy in the Lighthouse.
After a dozen days, the boy again went to the city to look for medicine that could possibly bring the girl back to life.
He had not yet given up hope that she was alive. He felt it and saw it - the girl's eyelids kept quivering, as if she were dreaming.
After visiting a few more long-abandoned houses in the city, he, unfortunately, again found nothing useful. It's the third day in a row, which isn't a good sign - it meant the treasure-less and failure days could be back. They came every year, every few hundred days and lasted for several weeks. In those days, it was best to stay out of bed or even the house, because whatever you tried, you failed.
The boy shook as he remembered the last time his bathroom and patio doors had somehow gotten locked at the same time. Not very pleasant memories...
On this not very successful day, something unexpected happened. After the boy left for the city, a few hours later the girl woke up. One, in the lighthouse.
January 15, 2015. About the works and their emotions.
I recently noticed a strange thing - when watching good movies, series or plays... After they end, I get the emotions and manner of the work or characters.
…Or, in other words, I become a part of the work. I get the soul and spirit of the piece.
Here, I will give examples:
As I read The Godfather, I begin to move, act and think like a member of the Corleone family.
After seeing the White Shroud in the theater, I later spoke similar to Garšva and his doctor.
After watching the series Vikings, I started to smile like the main character.
…And I have no idea at all - is this normal? Is a good piece good because it makes us different than we were at the beginning?
Is a good work supposed to give us, at least for a moment, the spirit of the work?
Am I the only one with such nonsense? Or maybe you too?
What is it - good work or the influence of good imagination and empathy?
…What do YOU think?
January 17, 2015. Subscription letter about a month without the Internet.
Here's the question - you or the internet? Who wins the daily battle for attention? Do you surrender to the pleasures of the Internet, or does it obey you?
…But wait, shouldn't you be doing something more important right now? For example, working on unfinished business or sleeping sweetly??? Huh?!
You see, the Internet is powerful. He is able to meet any of your needs in just a moment. He is kind, friendly, warm and knows more than your mother and three Einsteins combined.
After all, it is probably not surprising that we sometimes spend the whole day (and part of the night) in it. While browsing. While reading. Putting off more important work and studying for exams (or a better life). At the same time, we sacrifice sleep and our time, the only thing in the world we have a limited amount of.
...And then in the morning we look like this...
No good, right?
But here is a solution. One that you may not want to accept, but that will change your life for the better. A decision you must make if you want to live a happy life.
You must limit the time you spend on the Internet. Yes, as limited by me.
I once had a challenge - no internet from 11pm to 11am (or exactly half a day). In other words, at the most important time of the day. A time when I should be sleeping or eating breakfast and getting ready for the day's work.
And here's how I did it: My month without internet and what I learned from it.
Read on to find out how I did. And also, what do I advise you if you want to change your habits and defeat the internet monster. 😉
Do you accept this challenge for the sake of your future?
Your friend,
Daniel
