Goal of the day: 800 words. Written: 806.

The weapon glowed redder.

"And I have good eyes," he said.

"...You don't have eyes," I said after a pause, not understanding if he was joking or serious. Then, running, I seriously turned the Stone in my hand, looking for eyes.

"Oh Dieeeeve," he added sarcastically, "so I'm kidding." Stop screwing me. What, you have no sense of humor? Because if you don't have enough, I have enough to lend you some.

The stone laughed. Probably as a joke. But still, I must admit, I smiled too. I snorted.

- Well, if it's more serious, - after a pause he spoke in a more serious voice, - I simply noticed it while you were running somewhere.

- But... After all, it was full of dust and smoke. I didn't see anything! - I was surprised.

- You didn't see. I've seen. After all, I say - good eyes.

I smiled and twitched my lip. The answer was sufficient. Unanswered, but sufficient.

Another step and I reached the entrance. It was a rather wide empty corridor lit by a deck of yellow crystals. I let myself run inside. There should be an exit somewhere inside.

"And if this corridor is designed for spectators, the exit or entrance, from or to the Arena should be obvious."

* * *

I stood under the ledge of the outer wall of the Arena between the entrance columns and the street. The street I ran into was full of smoke. On the other side of the street, buildings stretched almost as high as the Arena, and the street was full of stones and bricks. Probably dropped in the Arena explosion. No people were seen.

Looking around, I realized that I had gone a little too close to the crash site. The arena above me and the entrance was, of course, still standing, but just a few tens of meters to the right - the street was full of stones.

Somewhere on the other side of that giant pile, chants and shouts could be heard, and flashes of yellow and red were reflected on (or seen through) the clouds of smoke, immediately followed by thuds and booms.

- Well, why are you standing here? Waiting for a beauty on a white unicorn? - said the Stone in his hand sarcastically, flashing yellow.

"Yes. I need to get out of here quickly.”

I looked around again. The only clear path was on the left. So I breathed a sigh of relief as I prepared for a new journey. I looked at the Stone in my hand.

"I should put it somewhere more convenient."

With my free hand, I tugged on my pants to find the pockets. There were none, and beneath them was only my bare skin. I tried to zip up my shirt... And then, as the seams tightened and I felt a pain in my back, I remembered that I had done quite a bit of driving on my back over gravel and pebbles. There will be no pocket in the shirt either.

- You know how difficult it is for cats to decide - do you want it at home or outside? - said Akmuos irritably, - Well, you're like that.

"Who are those cats?"

"What if I take you and throw you right here?" - I asked him back sarcastically, raising an eyebrow.

- Then, - he spoke a bit more quietly, - you will lose the only weapon that knows how to fight better than you. And I would be very sad because I like you.

I snorted. It was true—if it hadn't been for the gun, I probably would have been dead within moments.

"Or if it wasn't for that explosion…"

I looked again at the pile of stones. Someone was behind them.

I needed to run and run somewhere safe. …Somewhere. I took a breath and started walking towards the street.

* * *

When I ran out into the street I ran... Straight. To be honest, I had no idea where I should run, but the noise and chanting behind me was very disturbing. I really didn't want to end up in the Arena again or at all - caught in a mine to get my end. Even if someone blew up the Arena and thus saved me from death… It was unlikely that they did it on purpose. Especially when you could have done it earlier. Let's say before the fight.

"How did I even end up in the Arena??"

I shook my head and put this repeated question out of my mind. Obviously I didn't know enough to find an answer. And the Gun couldn't help me at all. The only person... Or creature that would have known and that I know myself is Jacob. If he knew it at all.

The city street was quite wide, and trees with red fruits hanging from branches full of green quivering leaves grew neatly along its edges. It had columns (or should I call them pillars?) standing neatly with crystals above them. Although they didn't glow, they were the same shape and color as the ones inside the Arena that I passed through to enter the city.

"Strange, I don't see a single person."

Although yelling and screaming, chanting and various bangs could be heard somewhere behind me, nothing was heard in front of me. It looks like I ran through a dead city.

Some creature was hiding in the alley I ran through, behind some boxes. However, I had neither the desire nor the time to explain what and why.

"Okay, well, someone is alive here, after all."

I looked up at the upper stories of the buildings, above [[those tents, above the shops]] and the closed windows, doors or windows. No life - no light - could be seen in them through the various curtains. Only various green crystals, sculptures on levitating stones and lighting stones flew above the street I was running on, and above them was a blue sky, cloudy in places and full of smoke.

As I ran, I turned around - the smoke was coming from Arena, which was already far away and hidden behind the house, and only its tops could be seen. I just didn't quite understand if the stone Arena and its ruins could smoke like that and why.

"Stone doesn't burn, right?" Is… Burning? What stone is burning?”

I shook again. I really didn't need these questions at the moment - if I want to, I'll figure it out later. First, I needed to take myself somewhere and take care of myself and take care of my already unbearably painful wounds. And do something with that head. It was getting weak.
