If you are reading this letter, I am grateful to you.
Not in the same way that Krishnaites or Catholics are grateful to you. They are grateful because their gods tell them to be. To chant the Hare Christ and say "Thank you" to everyone.
I am grateful to you in a different way.
At this moment, as 2016 draws to a close, I am reflecting on all that I have been able to achieve this year.
- What ideas to steal;
- Which days to take a nap;
- How to make mountains of money;
- Which people to use;
And behave like a complete bastard.
Thank you for helping me to be one.
It was only because of your help that this could happen. Without you, I wouldn't have had the knowledge, the ideas, the stolen jokes, the good ideas. Thank you for making this year possible.
- As someone I can say hello to;
- As a being with whom I can identify;
- As a being to whom I can give the best of myself.
Without you, I would not have been able to reveal my selfish, self-indulgent, self-indulgent desire to satisfy myself.
I couldn't have been human.
Well, at the same time, a little lioness who gives her parents pleasant emotions and asks for food, papooses, warmth and cuddles. Or the one who works, knowing that his work will bring joy to others.
Without you, I would not have been able to work. Or have someone to share ideas with.
Thank you.
Let me say a special thank you to a few people. You may read this and find yourself, or you may not read it and leave forever. Either way, I am already grateful to you.
Thank you...
- ...To the man who, when I drove into oncoming traffic in Vilnius and almost caused an accident, didn't get angry and just shrugged his shoulders, as if to say "It happens to everyone";
- ...The barista, who didn't know what I wanted to drink, offered me a Cascara tea and showed me the wonderful taste of that tea, which was disgusting to others;
- ...This is for the mother of two who kept my shopping trolley in Ikea while I drove my car to the loading bay;
- ...the cashier at the Rimi store, who smiled and enjoyed life not only when he approached me, but also when he approached that local chrony;
- ...That father who, when his child asked for a Kinder-surprise, looked him in the eye, thought a bit and took his beer off the shelf and bought a surprise instead;
- ...To that neighbour, whom I don't really know, but who raises the Lithuanian flag every day and thus gives me pride in my country;
...Or someone who believes in the positivity of other people. I hope you do.
2016 was a great year for me.
And hell, if our human psychology focuses only on the worst things - we can change that focus, we can turn it, we can overcome it.
And then, I guess, we can say "Thank you".
But ownand not in the name of God.
Thank you for reading. Thank you for being there.
Thank you.
And I'm done.
yours
Daniel
