Goal of the day: 180 words. Written: 280. Photo author: Vi Kontrimaitė
Here's an exercise:
- Set yourself a goal the question of why you are doing something.
- Write. A list, a scribble on a page, a shower of thoughts; a pencil or a computer.
- No matter. Just write - quickly and without thinking too much, and don't stop to answer that one question. If you want, you can put on some techno-focus music, but it's not necessary.
- When you feel like you can't think of anything, stop, lean back, think some more.
If there's anything else, keep writing until you need a break again. When you can't think of anything in 10-20 seconds, then stop. No more writing. - Pause. It can be 1 minute or 3 weeks. Whatever you like.
- Look at your answers. What did you find?
Do this and you will discover your answers.
And here's the exercise I did. Example:
Why am I writing? I write because:
- I want to become famous;
- I want to learn something new;
- I want to teach others this new thing;
- I want to expand my knowledge;
- I want to leave something valuable behind;
- I want to be (a bit) cool;
- I want to make money;
- I want to do something;
- I want to change my computer keyboard;
- I want to help others;
- I want to calm down while writing;
- I want to reassure others;
- I want to say words to others;
- I want to say this to myself, because it is only when I write that I understand the words in my head better;
- I want to change Lithuania and maybe the world;
Why am I looking for a wife? I'm looking because:
- I want to hug my girlfriend in her sleep;
- I want to put my tool in its holster;
- I want to smile;
- I want to laugh with her;
- I want to write letters;
- I want to eat. Tasty. And so I can learn to cook from it;
- I want a kiss on the cheek;
- I want to be hugged unexpectedly, sitting in the lotus position on the bed and reading books;
- I want to calm down;
- I want to frown;
- I want to believe in someone else;
- I want to cry;
- I want to rub my head like a cat against another person's shoulder;
- I want to giggle;
- I don't want to be afraid for the future;
- I want to worry about an unplanned pregnancy;
- I want to feel a little hysteria;
My mind is full of answers again!
Well thought of,
Daniel
